4 Minute Warning - Arthouse Short Film

What a fantastic time driving to and being at the @cobbinternationalfilmfestival ! That stretch of I24 between Nashville and Chattanooga is my favorite drive in the states. Made the trip with @chazmonster5 and had a blast hitting different spots like Dino’s in Nashville and Buc-ee’s in Georgia. Shoutout to the festival for the care and respect that went towards the screenings of all the shorts and features! It was surreal talk shop with a Hollywood level sound recordist and I finally had some of my more technical audio questions. 🤘🏽 I had a great time, got to see some fantastic stuff including my personal favorite, @runwildfilm Stopping by Metropolis, IL (huge Superman fan if you didn’t know) on my way back capped an unforgettable trip. #filmfestivallife #roadtrip #georgiafilm

Our homage to the religious horror films of the 70s and 80s is screening at the @cobbinternationalfilmfestival The team is hyped to be part of this festival and check out another historic theater in the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre. The Sanctity was shot in a weekend for an online YouTube film festival and has already achieved its third selection, which is testament to the dedication and ingenuity of the cast & crew. Audio is crucial on indie sets!! Outdoor shoots are always a nightmare when it comes to controlling the elements. We shot this during a storm . . . was suppose to be a light shower. But we had to keep the camera rolling to stay on schedule. Visually they are in a tent with sheets over it to hide that they are in our driveway during the day with a storm all around. Audio wise you have the rain, airplanes, thunder all messing with the sound. The actors did have mics on but they are not connected to the camera. So you get the pleasure of full camera audio as behind the scenes content. Creating this music video for a competition was such a fun challenge given we had about 20ish days to come up with a concept, shoot, and edit it to deliver before today (we actually were able to submit two days earlier on Saturday). We made an homage to horror films of the 70s and 80s, but also keep it fun to fit the song. Fingers crossed to hear something positive, but we're happy with the result regardless.

Thursday’s production meeting before the shoot this weekend was productive. We went over all the variables, the expectations, and what will constitute a great shoot experience for our 20+ extras. We also bought new lighting as this will be an exterior night shoot. We should have plenty of lighting to get some damn good images. Ozymandias helped too. #indiefilmmaking #preproduction

Flashback from our short that kicked us off post pandemic, State Trooper. This was shot in negative degree weather in a Chicagoland winter. It was mostly run and gun as the script allowed the freedom to improvise a lot of the montage you see here. It played really well when it was screened for a live audience as a finalist nominee at the Austin Micro Film Festival. You can check out the whole short and others in our Youtube channel.
